Channel Letters
Channel Letters are manufactured by bending metal to form what is known as "channels." These are generally made from aluminum, but larger channels can be made from structural grade steel. They are then internally lit by neon or L.E.D. modules.

Case Study #1: Daniel Ashley
In the first quarter of 2014 General Sign was contacted by Great Southern LLC, a Valdosta based General Contractor widely known in the multifamily residential building community.
They had been chosen to renovate and refurbish the historic Daniel Ashley building in downtown Valdosta.
As a building on the National Historic Register, all renovations, including signage, were reviewed by historical planners for approval. Design and materials used would have to be similar to the first quarter of the 20th century.

In 2013, Thomas and Hutton, a world renowned engineering firm, reached out to General Sign to design a new sign system for one of their major clients, Stratford Land. RiverPort, as the new development would be known, is a commercial distribution center in Hardeeville, South Carolina.
Thomas and Hutton’s assigned engineer had a complex design already in mind when we were contacted.
The sign would need to be an externally illuminated monument, with a radius top and constructed from brushed aluminum, along with a design parameter.
